I can say that I was there when Bailey started learning to brew. Our first beer was pretty simple — I forget what it was — but we almost accidentally used tap water instead of spring water to make it, and I’m going to take full credit for thinking last minute that we needed to go buy some bottled water. That was really all I ever contributed, even though we brewed together for almost a year — it was always the Bailey show, and she knows her stuff, so I was happy to just see her genius in action. We had our successes and our mild failures in our year or so of brewing together — including a Strawberry Steam ale that was overcarbonated and didn’t taste like anything — but Bails has really hit her stride since I left and I had the pleasure of tasting a few of the Jackalope brews back in June.
