ON THE CREEPINESS OF RUSSIAN FACEBOOK
After I had enough students pestering me about it, I finally joined Odnoklassniki, which is a sort of Russian Facebook. (There is another site, called vkontakte, which is closer to a Facebook/LinkedIn clone, but Odnoklassniki is much more popular with my students.) I finally relented because I’ll need student volunteers for some activities I’m planning and it’s an easy way to get...

riotousroots asked: Hi! I just found your blog and really like it so far. I'd love to go into the Peace Corps after college (this would be four years down the road) so I was just wondering what the process of entering such an organization was like. Do you enjoy your work?

mmorbo asked: I love your tumblr. Budapest pictures make me incredibly nostalgic, I'll definitely go back there this year. Did you visit or plan to visit Poland also? Cheers :)

Others, if they give any attention to the introduction they give a city’s vistors at all, present themselves in such a micro-managed way that the presentations...

Anonymous asked: Hey I'm thinking about applying for the corp for your or another eastern european location. Your blog is great I really like reading it, just found it earlier this week. I have two questions, the first is that are you placed with other PCV's and how do you meet other PCV in the region? Though training? Are you placed near each other? Do you hang out after work or is it mostly you see...
